This castle, built in the mid 13th century is in good condition and well looked after. It has the village built around it with hotels, villas, restaurants, cafes, gelato shops, bars and souvenirs. It has all of the usual parts to it. Draw bridge, ramparts,...More

Just to look at it was a marvel. Great story about the Duke of Venice and his rein. The area around it in Sirmeone is posh and can make a whole day of your visit. You can tour the castle, or drive under the drawbridge...More

Always enjoy a castle, but this 1 was a let down. No information to read, just loads of stairs. OK, the views of the town were pretty, but that's about it. Castle at Malcesine much better

We were staying in Sirmione so we were able to visit the castle before the crowds arrived. It cost us €12 which was a combined ticket with a visit to Grotte Di Catullo. There were lovely views from all sides and hundreds of steps, so...More

Very nice castle with a possiblity to wander around. The whole area is very beautifull. There is also a possibility to go around the castle with a boat. Amazing sights. Inside is tipical old town with a lot of restaurants and shops.

Worth a visit, there is an entry free, has its only little harbour inside, great camera opportunities for pictures of the surrounding areas from the top.

An interesting castle with its own "built in" harbour. Well worth the climb up the tower for the views of the peninsula. Note this is not a furnished castle.

This castle is at the very entrance the main tourist area of Sirmioni. It's very well preserved and when the entrance fee. You can walk through and take it all in, in about a half hour.

Nice castle with decent views. What let me down is the surrounding area where people go out of their way to make you feel segregated from rest of society. Makes me said and generally doesn't happen often in other parts of the world. I didn't...More

There is an entrance ticket to the archaeological site. The castle is in the centre of the village, you can't miss it. There are toilet facilities too.

Take a look at the working hours for the castle on their web pages... I went to Scalinger Castle in the summer, and on Sunday it was working only till 13h.
