It was amazing as the white rocks were out of the water so we could walk right out where there is usually a few feet of water. A real example if global warming as so little rain this summer with some very hot weather. It would have been five star but for the loud beat music being played in the cafe spoiling what is a beautiful spot. I like this music at a festival but it was intrusive almost abusive in this setting.

The „beach“ consists of big stone plates in and beneath the water. Not too much space, not much shade and probably very slippy steps into the lake (we didn’t try). A bar and music - but the place is probably a little overhyped.

Worth a wander to if you're visiting Sirmione. We visited the main castle then continued to wander up the peninsular, stopping fir coffee, until we reached the path down to jamaica beach. Lots of flat slabs of stone both in and out of the water which people st on. Very pretty but v busy. As others say be careful as some of rocks very slippy. We enjoyed our visit as part of our longer stroll.

We spent a Few days here. Not sandy, more like large flat rocks, amazing freshwater lake to swim in. Swim shoes would be handy. Great beach bar with great service.
Quiet simply a stunning place

Wow! Loved the time we spent here. Great place to chill listen to some tunes and people watch. View is fantastic and would happily have stayed all day. Can’t wait to go back. Drinks reasonably priced and food available if required.

One of the best place I ever swimming drunk. With view on mountains and old Roman’s castle, I cannot wish better place... even my white skin was not shining so bright because of these white rocks which are there as a beach.... magical place

Drive to the castle and parking is on a meter. There is a car park but this is the same price as the meters. You can pay by card.
If your there simply for the beach walk the left hand side of the peninsula but the right has views of the castle.
There is no sand it is white rocks and limited shade.

Giamaica beach is on the tip of Sirmione's peninsula, underneath the Roman ruins of Catullo's caves. It is very secluded because it can be reached only by private boat or by walking in the water (knee deep) for about 500 yards. You must walk toward the Roman ruins, then walk down to the Spiaggia delle BIonde beach, make a left and walk along the path. I strongly recommend water shoes because rocks very slippery and can hurt feet. Once you arrive to the beach you will find a nice green lawn with olive trees to provide shades. You must bring anything you need because no services are available on site. It is a free beach and it is very impressive thanks to the imposing slabs of rocks on which you can walk out to the deep part of the lake.

It was a long, tiring walk to reach here and although it was quite attractive, it wasn't a sandy beach. The beach bar was somewhere to rest away from the hot sun, but prices predictably were expensive.

My boyfriend and I visited this beach twice at the end of May/beginning of June while visiting Lake Garda.
The first time was a sunny Thursday afternoon (when we got there) around 4pm (but later got a bit cloudy). We walked down a small hill from the restaurant located at the top to find a very chilled out area with bar (altho I don't think they served food, other than crisps), and a grassy area overlooking the rocky entrance into the lake, with people laying in self-brought hammocks tied to trees (I think this is why it gets its Jamaica beach name).
There were toilets next to the showers and changing rooms, so all the essential facilities were available. And the water was warm enough to comfortably swim in, even in late May - we had visited Riva del Garda at the very north end of the Lake a few days before, and the water was so cold that my feet felt like they were going to fall off! The water doesn't get very deep because of the rocks, but still enough to swim and float about! That's probably why the water is so warm.
We visited again on the Saturday at the same time, around 4pm (which happened to be an Italian public holiday and much hotter), and this time it was rammed with people, so much that we barely found space to lay our towels. But it still had a chilled out vibe with people playing guitars, laying in hammocks, drinking Corona, and generally having a relaxed time.
In general, the pros of this beach are the chilled out atmosphere, great views and warm(ish!) water, and the only negative could potentially be too many people.

Hello.
Coming back to Garda again in six weeks. This we want to visit Jamaica Beach. My father is 84 and not 100% mobile. Is there any other way to get to the beach other than down the path mentioned, please? Any boats that go round there? Can a small boat be hired to sail there ourselves?
Thank you in advance for any responses.
Sam

I thought this beach had a nickname too. Does anyone know this name?

In settimana è sicuramente meno affollata.
