This old fashioned museum is attached to the Museo storico and they can be visited together. The exhibitions are informative and interesting but unfortunately the informations are only in Italian. See my review of the Museo storico.

This is one of 2 adjoining "Civic Museums" in Como (the other being the Archaeological Museum), and many travel sites don't distinguish very well between them, which is confusing. This one, however, focuses on the Risorgimento and Contemporary History eras, and is worth taking a...More

Good for an hour or two - with varied exhibits in a rabbit warren of rooms. Some lovely and unexpected frescos and ceilings and gives some insight into the history of Como and the surrounding area.

A lovely museum of Como's past and history spread over thousands of years. Lovely statuary, artifacts, and paintings and a great deal of esoterica. The museum is a bit confusing to navigate even with the included map.

We decided to visit this museum after reading some reviews here in TripAdvisor and we did not get wrong! Magnificent interiors are worth the visit alone. The rich exhibition content includes mostly the local culture development through the years (from prehistory, Etruscans and Romans to...More

This was a revelation to see the amount of history attaching to this ancient town and local area. Mostly signed in Italian of course, but there were short descriptions of the main features in English in each room. The building itself has some quite beautiful...More
