I loved this church. It was striking. Made you think about the power and pervasiveness of the Catholic Church. Also the restaurants across the street were lovely.

The Duomo of Como is in my opinion more spectacular than the one in Milan. Of course its a lot smaller, but is far more ornate and peaceful. People were naturally quiet in here and didn't need guides telling you to hush, as in Milan....More

Walking around town on our first day, we came across the Cathederal. For a modest €1 donation, a walk inside can only be described as spectacular! These old Cathederals never cease to amaze me with their architecture and grandeur. And that comes from a non...More

Even though dim lighting and limited access to all areas of this cathedral detract from your enjoyment, it has very beautiful aspects to it. The ornate transepts and duomo are really spectacular. There were roped off areas while I was there which seemed unusual. Even...More

Very beautiful and inviting from the outside, although due to position and area it's difficult to stand back and observe it all. But worth a visit inside and seeing as it's 1 euro to enter it's win win . It's not a huge cathedral so...More

At night they light up the Duomo, and I recommend this as a gerat spot for a romantic walk! A couple good wine bars circle the square as well.

My wife and I wandered up to the Cathedrale from the ferry dock. Large and imposing, the cathedral is considered one of the last Gothic cathedrals built in Italy. The rose window is lovely but no other features were particularly outstanding. Worth seeing if you...More

This cathedral is stunning, it's hard to comprehend how much work went in to building a cathedral like this. It is definitely worth a visit being in the centre and only a couple of mins from the ferry terminal.

The tourist entrance is used when the Duomo is in Service so non-participating guests will not interrupt the religious program.
