Begun in 1876, this scenic square features a monument called "Weaver," which commemorates the 25th anniversary of Rome as a capital of the state, plus other important structures including the Teatro Adriano and Chiesa Valdese, built in a curious mix of Romanesque-German and Byzantine-nouveau.

We were there on a Sunday afternoon when most of the shops were closed, but it was so much fun to window shop. The ambiance was perfect for a small Italian town, and we were able to sit and have a cup of coffee and people watch. So much fun!

Nice italian square, if you are lucky there's a market with cheese, sweets, salamis etc. Also restaurants and shops. Nice view over the lake.

There are some lovely shops for silk scarves etc along the edges of this piazza. Apparently the silk all comes from the region, but I would still check labels carefully. Even if you are not buying the shops are good for some window shopping.

Just at the shore of Lake Como ... interesting in the hours of dawn when the tourist withdraw and the young love couples arrive ...

Not your typical piazza surrounded by interesting buildings, Piazza Cavour is a square bounded by busy roads and greenery with the lake beyond. Being square in shape it is suited as a display area. Still an interesting place to sit and watch the world go by.
