This is about 10km from Bellagio, up a reasonably challenging climb. The church has become a shrine to cyclists with bikes, jerseys and other memorabilia. There is a great cycling museum next to it. A must for cyclists.

The most wonderful little church at the top of a mythical climb. It is full of bikes and Italian cycling memorabilia. Museum next door is a must. The climb itself is about 10 km and quite challenging, but a wonderful experience.

I am not a cyclist but my husband is and was keen to pay the shrine and Museo del Ciclismo a visit before he cycles the hill tomorrow. The little church is beautiful and very atmospheric and I was really moved by the photos of the fallen cyclists. The Museum is brilliant and has possibly the nicest staff in the... More

Cycle to the top and check out the chapel and the museum. Great views. A cycling Mecca. The ride down had about 20 switchbacks- be careful on weekends, lots of traffic.

The breathtaking view you can enjoy from Madonna del Ghisallo is one of the reasons that 10 years ago convinced me to buy an house in this area and two years ago to open my house to guests coming from all other the world. If you spend some days in this area and give a look to the lake from... More

Fantastic museum of cycling memorabilia focussing (obviously) on Italian cycling but also paying respect to the great and the history of the sport. I unfortunately wasn't on a bike, but this would be a suitable reward for completing the climb out of Bellagio.

A pretty chapel dedicated to cyclists, in a beautiful location overlooking Lake Como, 10km south of Bellagio. The Museum of Cycling is just opposite ... for sentimental cycling fans Whether or not you're a cycling enthusiast you'll be moved by the monument to the champions of the sport. Worth a detour if only for the views.

You have to visit the Madonna del Ghisallo and the museum next door, which is a tribute to the history of cycling. Get some Ghisallo cycling swag from the gift shop. It is not overpriced and worth having as a souvenir of your cycling efforts!
