Walked from the bus station in Bergamo and it was well worth it. The most ‘Italian’ thing I’ve done so far. Walking up and over the scenic valleys gives views not to be replicated elsewhere. Once arriving the pizzeria delivered was excellent. Highly recommend.

The title magnifically sums up what you can find in this enjoyable and interesting landmark. Apart from the church, in which surprisingly you can find a Neapolitan crib, it’s also interesting to visit the big painting “The Last Supper” by Alessandro Allori as well as the temporary exhibitions hosted there.

You can wander around yourself and see the buildings that are being restored and a small display about the restoration works. But it isn't really well developed as a tourist attraction. Check the opening hours if you are out of season.

For three days Astino’s Valley, one of my favourite places in Bergamo for its natural beauty, will be the stage of a gastronomic event. It is called “Astino nel Gusto”. The former Monastery will trasform itself into the town of culinary delights, where food and local products are [...] Check out my blog for more, link in my bio!

Such a pleasant place to spend a sunny afternoon in spring or summer.
Recently restored, the Monastery is now opened to the public again and during the summer a terrace restaurant where you can have simple and tasty food and of course italian wine from the Cantine or fresh beer!
Very good and not expensive, 9€ for the Pizza 10 € for the herbs grilled chicken 4.5€ a beer. You order your food at the counter and bring it back to your table.
Very good spot , nice walking around in the green hill around Bergamo.

I've been visited this place with a group of locals.
There is a parking service by the entrance (it is not allowed to drive if you're not a resident so you have a to pay and park the car).
Once you leave your car you start a nice walk through the main road.
There is a beautiful monastero with a bar inside where they offer a nice Italian aperitif (there are many events running too as concerts, dj sets) and an interesting orto with many varieties and explanations of the project.
A visit recommended on a sunny weekend.

Visited the monastero last week and loved it. At night time in the summer there is a great ambience due to the outdoor pop-up restaurants- serving great pizzas and a few other lovely dishes! Drinks were also of a very good quality. The monastery itself was cool but didn't take long to walk around- I would go for dinner and have a look round at the same time. Prices in the restaurant very reasonable and great quality!

We wandered in here almost by accident, as this seems to be one of the Bergamo university campus buildings these days and is thus redundant as a church. Just inside is an open courtyard and then behind that another courtyard. Evidence of faded glory with remnants of wall frescos and the info on one sign said there was a wall with fossils embedded but we didn't find that. Not much else to see, as off the courtyards are lecture rooms and other university facilities. Pop in if you are passing that way on your walks round the walls..

there is a nice walk from Bergamo San Vigilio (some 2 hours) to come here, but the former Cloister is itself is closed for reconstruction (some short opening hours on Saturdays and Sundays, information at the tourist desk in Bergamo). However, from the walking trail you have a nice view on the Monastero.
