We stayed in Bergamo Cittá Alta for a few days on this visit. We passed through this piazza many times during our visit and we're amazed how many different things we saw each time. Worth a visit

Lovely main square, not too small, not too large, with bell tower tolling periodically. Some nice places to sit and drink/eat.

This hugely impressive town square (Piazza) is almost totally surrounded by restaurants and bistros. One can sit at these and watch the goings on for hours. The history surrounding the Piazza goes back centuries and it was wonderful to feel that one was actually sitting...More
Piazza Vecchia is very charming, actually by day or night but I loved it at night. There were street performers singing, street vendors, restaurants and lots of action. We enjoyed walking down to the piazza Vecchia several evenings during our stay.
