Currently staying in Santa Margherita. We flew into Pisa as we wanted to see it but Genoa is closer. This beautiful town and port area is highly recommended. The town is flat and suitable for the not so fit. But you can stretch the legs,...More

Loved Santa Margarita. It’s a walk to Portofino with so much to do. We totally enjoyed our time there. We have recommended this to many of our friends and would definitely go back.

Consider avoiding visiting the place by car and prefer a day trip w/ the train. When coming w/ a car use the parking lots near the train station

Stunning pit stop on our Italian vacation. Lovely hotels, restaurants and shops on the ocean. It's right on the train line and very close to Genoa for those flying in, and close to other must-see areas (e.g., Portofino, Cinque Terre.)

This is a lovely town with a lively market and great restaurants. Free beaches are in short supply but not impossible even in August we were able to find space. Swimming in the sea is a delight and swimming out to the rafts we could...More

A great place to head to the beach without the touristy expense. A short walk or bus from portofino. Well worth stopping in if heading to cinque Terre.
