To get to the Castle, you need to climb up the hill, which is a “walk in the park” by Ligurian standards… However, the views from the castle are well worth the climb and the 5 € entrance fee, which is comparatively cheap in comparison to the outrageous prices charged elsewhere in Portofino.

Definitely worth a visit!
Also the view from our hotel is breathtaking, still worth a visit to Castello Brown as from its top, there is a wider view.
Entry ticket EUR5 - well bit costy but it’s Portofino, so~ I enjoyed my visit there.

It’s all about the views, maybe 10 minute walk from church up hill but easy walk with nice path.
Castle overlooks the town that is picture perfect, I was lucky to visit on a nice day amazing.
Castle not very big and nothing inside jumps out at you with any WOW factor.
It’s all about the view so would recommend visiting castle having a quick look, then take in the views.

The walk is uphill, and fortunately mostly shaded. When you get to the top there is a lovely bar with snacks and hot and cold drinks for all ages. The castle itself is in good condition, and the photo opportunities from this vantage point are fabulous!

Stunning views, but tough climb! The views of Portofino from the top / garden are incredible. Even the hike up there is full of stunning views and lots of flowers.

Castello Brown is interesting, love the old photos on the wall. But the best part is the amazing, life-changing, bucket-list view from the castle back to Portofino.

Thanks to Tripadvisor reviews we took a walk up from the harbour and it was an excellent recommendation. We walked up the cobbled slope in less than 10 minutes and it wasn’t too arduous (we are 55 and 72). Paused at the church on the way up as well.
The castell is small but interesting and what a location! There is an outside bar at the top for refreshments or sit on a bench in the shade if you’ve brought your own.
There is another footpath down through the trees which was steeper so I thought the wider cobbled road up past St Giorgio church was easier as you can look around at the views rather than down to avoid stumbling. (follow Google maps or signs from the harbour)

Very nice small walk to the castle with the view on Portofino bay. Not so much to see inside though. Still the most interesting part of Portofino

It's a climb to get here, but the view is worth it. The castle is not so shabby either, and with a lot of history (Churchill once was here... God knows how he got to the top).
The rooms are pretty bare, but several photos explain the history. But the view are incredible.

Per arrivare al castello ci sono tanti gradini da fare? Ho una persona che pur camminando si stanca facilmente, é possibile visitare il castello?

The ticket is 5 euros. The castle is quite small and simple, but it is a must because of the views. I took the best pictures of Portofino there. It also has a nice collection of photographs of celebrities who visited the island in the past.

Is there any transportation to the castle for those with walking difficulties. If not can the walk be done slowly with a cane in less than a couple of hours easy walking?
Thanks

It took me about 30 minutes to climb. It's a solid hike. Not sure if there is any transportation available. The views are breathtaking.
