The Golf of Poets with Lerici, Portovenere and the small islands is a beautiful spot in Liguria, at the beginning of the 5 Terre. The settings is unique. It is suggested to have a boat tour to better appreciate it.

We preferred Porto Venere to the Cinque Terre. Just as beautiful as it's famous neighbours, but far easier to reach, less crowds and a really lovely atmosphere. Would love to visit again and maybe stay here instead of La Spezia

No there is no train however you can get the boat from the front of La Spezia. It's a beautiful journey, takes about 15 minutes and the sail into Porto Venere is to die for!!! Photo opportunity not to miss. You can get the bus but roads are nor great and you miss out on the views! Have a great trip!
