Worth visiting when you are here and looking around such a great port and have a nice restaurant to sit and relax while watching the sunset.

The old port area is interesting but right near the ancient parts of the city that are still quite unfavorable, filthy, and crime ridden. We watched a fight breakout in mid day

Nice port to visit with a few things to see and do, wouldn’t say it’s brilliant and a must but good to do.
Old Port seemed poorly designed and messy. Some good things to do like aquarium and Pirate ship to name a few but just didn’t feel right to me as someone who loves to explore the waterfront’s in all the cities I visit.

My friend and I decided
To take a day trip to Genoa while the chief and his wife hiked cinque Terra. We ended up in the old port. The big draw is the aquarium and there was a ping lime to get in. We decided to have lunch and walk around. There is also a big pirate shop to explore. It’s a fun place for kids.

In January 2023 we enjoyed a 10-night Western Mediterranean Cruise on the MSC Lirica sailing from Alicante (cost £420 each). The first stop was Genoa and at the entrance to the port there was a tourist information office where we got a free map. The city was picturesque with narrow steep streets, historical buildings and points of interest. There were some great attractions including shopping centres, creative art work (painted fiat 500s), D'Albertis Castle, the San Lorenzo Cathedral, Christopher Columbus house, a number of monuments, palaces and museums, quirky shops and Porto Antico (harbour).
The large harbour was bustling and it was a relaxing place to people watch. There were lots of yachts, a pirate ship (Galeone Neptune) and boat trips, and we enjoyed watching the Ferris wheel. Whilst at the port we paid 5€ to ride the Bigo Lift (elevated capsule with 360-degree views of the city). It was interesting to see how the cotton warehouses had been converted to small art galleries and restaurants.
In addition to bars and restaurants there were also shops. There was a lovely promenade with palm trees, toilets and places to sit. There was lots of things to do at the harbour including visiting the cinema, Galata museo del mares and Submarine Nazario Sauro, the aquarium and biosphere dome. The dome was home to orchids, ibis' birds, ferns and tropical fauna and flora. If visiting the city for the first time I would recommend taking the 'hop on, hop off bus', or joining an organised walking city tour which takes about 3 hours.

The port area is big with plenty of seating areas. There is also plenty of shops, bars and restaurants around the area. Most people will go walking or running here. Very calm area to relax.

As we live in a harbour city we experienced the old port as a tourist site with plenty of room, and the Calata De' Ansaldo Mari 1 as the highlight.

The harbor has several attractions (like the aquarium), many restaurants and bars, and is a lively nice place, at every time of the day. Its a great place to stroll around, have a gelati, do some people watching etc.

Hola quisiera consultarte algo a ver si podés ayudarme.
