A must-see stop, as you stroll through downtown Genoa. Breathtaking artwork everywhere, including 2 paintings by Peter Paul Reubens.

Definitely worth a visit although it does not look like much from the outside. Different from the St Lawrence Cathedral which is spectacular outside but inside not much to see.

Another in an array of beautiful churches and art made possible by the affluence of Genoese trade. In this case, Ruben masterpieces grace the walls.

Genoa's churches are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. This one is no exception. La chiesa del Gesù is located near Palazzo Ducale, just off Piazza de Ferrari. You can see two paintings by Rubens and lots of other great works of art inside this attractive church. It is closed at lunchtime.

This church looks less than ordinary from the outside, but it's grandeur and wealth inside are extremely surprising

I went in here because I had read about the Reubens paintings but there are actually lots of paintings here and they are all very good. Spent about 30 mins in here and wandered in when no-one there so not sure if free or not but door was open.

It looks just ordinary church outside but when I opened the entrance door of the church & entered the inside, I was speechless!! Its absolutely gorgeous!! I was in the middle of traveling of a 43 days europe when I got to Genoa. However, I felt so relieved, blessed & relaxed when I got to this church!!
