This is a great photo op, and the beach surrounding is lovely. Look up the history surrounding this statue, its a good story of the place.

Perhaps it was simply because it was our first trip to Italy and to Monterosso al Mare, but everything about this town I found amazing and beautiful. And to see this from the beach and to know it was built in 1910...the history, the stories this statue could tell if could talk...to be standing there was simply amazing.

Amazing sculpture on the cliffs just overlooking the beach. It is definitely worth a trip to the beach to see this art work.

At the end (north side) of Monterossa this giant sits among the cliffs. The surrounding views are very spectacular and the carving of the giant just as impressive. A must see if you're in this small town.

took us a while to locate this, we were just looking in the wrong place. Once we found it it's sort of cool, took a couple of pictures, nice piece of history for the town, not certain if there is a path to this now but if you are in town it's worth a look.

I love this stretch of beach! This is the second time we've been here and have loved it both times. The water is so beautiful! It's a little crowded, but both times we've been able to find our own little spot of beach. :) And the Il Gigante statue is definitely worth seeing if you are in the area!

An interesting rock carving. Too bad you can't walk on or near it like the olden days. You can find a picture of how it used to be along the main road, not far from Il Gigante.
