In mid June 2017 this was a great walk with stunning views. There are no really steep climbs and many places to take a pause, including a small cafe about two thirds along. We arrived at the path at 9 am but would have been...More

We found Monterosso to be the most lively (and flattest) of the five towns. The beaches were nice but more mica than sand. The old town is small but bustling and the promenade between the old and new town provides a lovely walkway. It is...More

Although I am not a seasoned hiker, I do enjoy going for walks and we thought that it might actually be quicker than taking the ferry back to Monterosso given the waiting time plus we would have the opportunity to burn off some extra calories...More

Lovely walk through amazing scenery. Some tough passages but all in all pretty straight forward. Bring water and a good camera. You´ll need both! Also beware that you need to pay an entrance fee to the park to hike this trail. I would recommend getting...More

We did the hike early in the morning to avoid the late July heat. It was still a hot, sweaty hike, but well worth it. The five of us had plenty of water with us and took a few breaks to catch our breath or...More

The views on this walk are priceless. It will take you about 2 hrs to do, and it can get busy during the summer. The path is not paved and very rocky, with steep climbs. Sometimes it's so narrow that oncoming hikers will have to...More

My wife (58) and I (61) did the Vernazza to Monterosso trail and really enjoyed it. We left Vernazza and got to the entrance gate and were told it was closed. We asked if we could still go and were told yes but at our...More

There is a lot to say about the footpath, starting in Monterosso towards Vernazza. All starts with weather, if it is a dry day or after rainy days, the day we chose was a Friday in the first week of September, it was very dry...More

When we were here (first week of Oct.) the shorter (90 minute) trail along the water was closed. In fact, the only "along the water" part of the trail that was open was a piece between Vernazza and Corneglia. That said, the trains are great...More

Path number 1, by far the most popular, was closed while we were at Monterosso, and rumour has it that it many be closed for most of the coming year. However, we had read notices in the town of Monterosso directing us to path number...More

Monterosso is the easiest, as the station is a flat walk to either the Old City or the New City. Both are about a 5 minute walk from the station. Manorola is also easy, as the station is in a tunnel right in the middle of... More

I traveled in July ( top summer) but I suppose they will be running in November, why not? But I think the best time to visit this place is summer or spring time . Another point, take the local train to visit the towns

We walked from Monerosso to Corniglia in early January. The rest of the path was closed for maintenance. We were not charged anything to walk and paid at the station for the train. The weather was magnificent then - hope it... More
