Scalinata Lardarina / Corniglia

This stairway connects the Corniglia Train Station to the tiny village of Corniglia. We're staying in Corniglia so we walked down the stairs and thoroughly enjoyed every step. Great views to Manarola. NB. The official CT website states "For lazy people there's a bus service from station going every 10 minutes".

About a 20 minute walk from the train stop straight up to Corniglia. The walk has very beautiful views of Manarola and pretty flowers along the way. There are some spots to stop and rest if needed. There is a bus service up and down to Corniglia that runs 2-3 times an hour if you want to avoid the climb.... More

We took the train and started towards town. A few hundred yards later we encountered the bottom of la scalinata. What a great staircase. It probably took us 10 minutes to get to the top and that's because we stopped at each landing to admire the view and take pictures. Absolutely wonderful. It took much less time on the way... More

My wife & I climbed these stairs after our hike from Manarola to Corniglia, which made this a bit more difficult. Wouldn't be a problem if you climb these fresh though as the slope is not too steep and are quite even with plenty of space for rest anywhere you like since the path is quite wide. As you get... First of all, I'm a heavy guy and almost 50 years old, and I did it with ease. My wife, who isn't good with stairs, almost passed out at the top. But we walked up and then down, and I loved it. My wife hated going up, and loved coming down. We were both happy we did it, though. You... More

These are steps which you need to climb up on the way from the station to the town and climb down on the way from the city centre to the station. So people who are planning to put up in Corniglia pl be aware that there are many steps they would need to climb to get their accommodation . We... More

when we got off the train we noticed people getting on a bus but did not know why until we realized all the steps we had to climb-it was exhausting. The village is definitely worth the climb though-each village of the CT is so unique. We took the bus back to the train station .

These stairs make a great reason to visit Corniglia early in your visit. You do not want to hike up these after walking around all day. They are not particularly steep and have enough space for traffic in both directions; this is the primary way to reach Corniglia from the train station. On the positive side there is a beautiful...
