I had a small walk in the Plaza during the Christmas period and the view is totally stunning. It’s easy to understand why is one of the most famous place of Trieste. You cannot leave the city before had a quick tour there.

Our room at the historic Duchi d'Aosta, as well as its fine restaurant, overlooked this elegant space, which was especially festive with its holiday decorations. We've heard this called one of the most beautiful public squares in Europe, and having seen all the major (and...More

Magical by night....beautiful statues, fountains and buildings. The nicest piazza we've seen in Europe so far! Plenty of spots for a pre-dinner drink too.

Go and visit this Piazza during the day, but definitely come back at night it is even more beautiful and it is so close to many restaurants and other attractions, like the Grand Canal.

Grand and grandeur square open to the sea; wonderful cafes line the square with outdoor seating. The architecture of the buildings is absolutely beautiful. Walking distance to the main pedestrian shopping centers.

It's wonderful to wander around this place during the day when the sun is reflected in golden tiles of the buildings. But it's also nice in the evening when the pavement is illuminated by blue lights. Very romantic place.

This is a beautiful square, with a very famous coffee house and its patio located here. We enjoyed a coffee on the patio, but there isn't anything else to do and no shops.

It is 10 - 15 minutes on foot from the train station, so you most certainly do not need a car. There are also buses from the station which stop in front of the square itself. You must buy the ticket before boarding and... More

Yes, there is a parking place across the square on the waterfront, but if you need to leave your car for a longer period of time, then it might be better to park somewhere in the street. You can park for free at the train... More
