Not only is it a big open space, ideal for taking pictures, it's also rich with history. You should start your tour of Trieste at this location and you can have a coffee or tea in the cafe which is located on the piazza.

Piazza dell'Unita is lovely , bustling with cafes, restaurants, shops, It is beautifully lit up at night, great atmosphere to have an after dinner drink as well. We were lucky enough to enjoy a summer concert.

Square has a spirit of 19. century with picturesque palaces around and open view to the see. Place is good for a walk - if it is not windy. Parking is near, just on the opposite side of the street on the embankment. Tourist office...More

Da vedere, la geometria dei palazzi, le luci, l'atmosfera... stupenda! Must see! architecture, atmosphere, lights... wonderful! A masterpiece of urbanistic art, an open door towards the sea, this square is one of the nicest I've ever seen. It's worth a walk!

Lovely square, especially at night. Very close to the sea, shops and a wonderful walking entry into the city. Cafes with very efficient service ideally placed for people watching. Unexpectedly elegant for a port town. Trieste definitely one of my favorite cities.

My first encounter was at night, with Christmas lights on, it was incredibly glamorous. Then I went back around sunset, when it was bathed in the warm golden light. I can’t say which one is more impressive - but both absolutely worth seeing.

It is 10 - 15 minutes on foot from the train station, so you most certainly do not need a car. There are also buses from the station which stop in front of the square itself. You must buy the ticket before boarding and... More

Yes, there is a parking place across the square on the waterfront, but if you need to leave your car for a longer period of time, then it might be better to park somewhere in the street. You can park for free at the train... More
