the interior is worth checking out, plus it is already included in your multi-museum pass so why not?

this is the building located right behind the Monument of Liberty

after here, you can continue on to Basilica del Santo San Marino

Really enjoyed walking around this area and visiting the house of parliament so small amazing you can walk into chambers that politicians sit in. It like the size of a local council building in Australia incredible.

Building itself very picturesque with museum, art, statues etc. and a nice staircase leading up to the chambers of government.

A must for me to understand the history of San Marino.

The Palazzo Pubblico is the official seat of the main institutional and administrative bodies of the Republic of San Marino, including the Great and General Council, the Council of XII and the State Congress. The building is Neoclassical. The facade of the Palazzo Pubblico is supported by three pointed arches and is characterised by the presence of three large openings and the clock tower. The coats of arms of prominent families are present on the facade. Reliefs of the four castles that made up the ancient republic are above the arches of the portico .

Inside, the outstanding features are the atrium, the grand staircase and the Hall of the Great and General Council. The atrium of the building is characterised by an elegant light tone. The atrium is dominated by the large stone staircase that leads up to the balcony. Along the walls of the staircase, there are several tombstones of illustrious San Marino and foreign personalities including a bronze head of Abraham Lincoln, who was granted honorary citizenship in 1861. The ceiling of the atrium consists of a polychrome wooden deck with a decorative frieze, while the walls are in stone.

The hall of the Great and General Council is intended for carrying out the parliamentary activity of the Republic. The centre of the room has tables and seats, presumably for the senior members of the council and is surrounded by benches for the representatives. The room is dominated by a painting by Emilio Retrosi in 1894. It depicts the apparition of San Marino to the people on Mount Titano as he gives the people of San Marino his ideal of freedom and independence. To the right of the saint are two captains regent, while to the left are the people with the banners of the guilds.

Nice museum and the seat of government in San Marino. Free if you get the all day pass. On the main public square in town. Love the architecture.

The seat of San Marino's supreme institution, the changing of guards ceremony takes place here during the summer. My wife and I had a short stop off in Ravenna whilst on a cruiser and we enjoyed the prearranged excursion to San Marino. The tour wasn't for the faint of heart because there's lots of steps and lots of trekking to navigate but it's worth the effort.

It is the town hall of the city of San Marino and also its official government building. The building is open to the public and some parts of it can be viewed.

I bought a ticket for €6 and could use it to visit two places of my choice. Palazzo Pubblico was one of them. For me the most interesting was the Chamber of the Great and General Council.

Btw the Palazzo Pubblico is depicted on the San Marino two-euro coin.

Palazzo Pubblico San Marino, built in the Neo-Renaissance style, it was built between 1884 and 1894 on the ruins of the ancient Domus Magna Comunis. It is the seat of the main institutional and administrative bodies. This is where the official ceremonies of the Republic of San Marino take place. From the square you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.

Unfortunately the weather was poor and foggy when I visited, however this did not ruin what was a very beautiful historic plaza.

The “Palazzo Pubblico” is the parliament of the Republic of San Marino. It is faced on Liberty Square, very easy to find it.
From outside the architecture is similar to other cities of central Italy, Instead inside it is possible to see the hall, The Chamber of the Grand and General Council and few rooms. Also if inside the palace is not so rich in art, it is very nice with some painting and medieval symbols.
I heard that, in general, the changing of the guard is also planned, but I didn’t see it, so I don’t know about this point.
