This is the mountain top rocky path between tower 1 and tower 2, it only takes about 10 mins to walk between the two. The walk gives superb views of both towers and over the Italian countryside and the Adriatic sea. As the entry price of tower 1, also covers entry to tower 2 , it would be a shame to miss this delightful walk.

The Passo Delle Streghe is a paved stone path that connects the First Tower aka Guaita with the Second Tower aka the Castello della Cesta. The name of the path comes from a local legend that this was a gathering place for witches around large fires to perform mysterious rituals. That's the gist, but I don't want to ruin the full story. The path is a photogenic spot with stunning views of Castello della Cesta and the Adriatic Sea.

This is a well-marked path that links the three towers - great for a walk from tower one to tower three.

This is definitely one of the most beautiful spots in San Marino. The view of the mountain is spectacular and it’s not too hard to walk like some of the other streets. It was a bit difficult to find at first as the map wasn’t working well. Not too crowded especially in the early morning, and the views are amazing before midday.

Passo delle streghe is an interesting narrow passage on the slope on the San Marino Crest along a narrow and steep path between the first (Torre Guaita) and the second ( Cesta Torre) tower. The sunset seen from the this place is amazing, the passage of the witches ( passo delle streghe ) can prove really suggestive. This intresting place symbolizes the charm of the ancient city in the our hearts. The view of the valley and Rimini from this place is breathtaking. It was named after the strange phenomena that occurred in the passage between the towers. It is said that in the Middle Ages witches gathered here to practice their magic rituals. Legend has it that the witches used to gather here during the nights and that at the first light of the morning they turned into black cats that fled in all directions. For this reason the inhabitants of the vicinity were usual to chase away the black cats, because they would have been nothing other than the harmless witches.

Do yourself a favour and go past the first tower. Some walking is needed but the ruggedness of mount titano becomes breathtaking. The section between the first two towers is not too bad but can be slippery on a rainy day

Be ready to have a good steep walk heading towards the tower. When we reached the close by parking we asked if the road uphill is stroller friendly. We were told that it's steep by manageable if you don't have a choice (like you wouldn't like to carry your kids!!)

We reached there in a cloudy day and the view from the top was breathtaking. Highly recommend it to people who love history as well as scenery views.

It was near dusk and half wanting to rain, making the tower shot look so ethereal. Very cool photograph!
