While the other sites are breathtaking, this room is smaller so a more intimate encounter with the mosaics. Truly a treat to come into this space.

When you say Ravenna, you say Byzantine mosaics. I hadn't planned on visiting this site, but I'm glad I did. The mosaics are simply breath-taking. Combine this with a visit to Saint Vitale Basilica. It's a must-see for every history lover.

My title says it all - this is THE most important site to see in Ravenna. Tiny, gorgeous, seeping with history and absolutely stunning.

These mosaics are, for me, the most extraordinary, partially because the designers (whoever they were) did amazing designs in every square inch of this mausoleum. And the woman behind this place has an amazing story as well.
