The "Newer" church above the ancient site is unspectacular, but you can imagine life in this area during Roman times. I find it fascinating that the street levels have risen so much since ancient times. The site was used for Medieval burials many hundred years...More

Some beautiful floor mosaics worth checking out especially the one that included figures in a dance.

Extraordinarily well preserved mosaics from a Roman domus from the fifth-sixth centuries. Images are fascinating: they are not only pagan, they have curious contradictions. Geometric patterns are mostly what the floors are about but the impact is still stunning.

One of the most impressive in situ displays of 5th-6th century floor mosaics. Just amazing to see up close. Recently discovered and meticulously excavated and maintained, well worth the visit! One of my top three favorite places in Ravenna.
