Beautiful old cathedral in the center of Piacenza. It has three naves divided by big columns. The church was built in 1122, the frescoes were added much later. It has an modern pipe organ and a old crypt under the altar.

Piasenza is such a lovely city and this cathedral is one of the most interesting places of the city with a huge history and amazing portico and an interior so relaxing and spiritual. Lovely

In the city there are a lot of churches. This cathedral was built in 1122 - 1133 and it has enourmas walls and columns. There are several paintings fron the very early time.

A beauty in the center of the city, right on the Piazza Duomo, you can admire the high bell tower with a gold Angel on top. Inside is imposing, with some real piece of art to admire

The gothic sense of this giant cathedral is amazing to me, and it highlights the sense of power and majesty that was in this town. This lovely town.

Piacenza is a typical Italian city much under rated by comparison with Parma but worth a detour. The Duomo is splendid and for the best view of the City and surrounding countryside take the lift up the outside of the tower. This is a temporary...More
