The highlight of the Duomo is the frescoed dome of the Assumption by Coreggio. In order to see it properly, you have to put in a euro to light it.

The cathedral is free entry, but the duomo-baptistery combo ticket comes with a tablet audio guide for both sites, which is very good. The cathedral tour is a little longer than one might expect, but is of course very interesting.
