We did not enter, based on advice from previous reviewers, but found the outside really attractive and typical of the area's palazzo's. Easy to fit in a visit as is between the station and the centre - kids of all ages will love the water...More
It's just off one of Modena's main shopping streets so it isn't hard to find. Pretty to look at but I gather the interior is not worth the effort
The history of the family Estense is also the history of Modena. They ruled this area for a couple of hundred years.
I enjoyed spending time here as part of exploring Modena as I was just leisurely spending some time. I did not make use of a tour guide but still enjoyed the visit.
Beautiful to behold from the outside as you stroll throughout the historic city center, the old building interior has been now converted to mundane modern offices.
Home of the Ducale Palace, a magnificent building which is still in use today as a college, in the palazzo there are many places to sit, relax and have a drink or a snack, there are also many shops to window shop
