What an experience. Absolutely stunning. This theatre is well worth visiting. The seats are comfy while watching the play. Stunningly beautiful

I could feel the vibrancy of the city outside the opera house, as it’s situated right in the university area - the oldest university in the world. The decor and the atmosphere of the opera house itself however brought me back to the early 20th...More

Very disappointed by this experience. Seating in the expensive seats was poor - virtually no knee room. Staging of the Barber of Seville was bizarre to say the least. Not sure what the director was trying to do but for me it didn't work. Singing...More

Teatro Comunale is in student quarter and very popular with well heeled Bolognaise. Tickets are expensaive £70/£90 but worth it for the setting and the experience. You can book in person in Booking Office after 2.00. Cheaper than online and staff are very friendly. Queuing...More

It is a wonderful opera (and concert) house but years of mismanagements have had a great negative impact. A second row theater in the italian arena it is now trying to improve its rank. The outcome is uncertain: dramatic financial problems loom over the theater...More

This is a beautiful opera house where you are kept waiting outside and when the doors open tickets are checked by one person! Hopefully, the night I visited there was a reason for such chaos and understaffing. The auditorium itself is magnificent and the interval...More

Very nice antique theatre with well-preserved wooden understage machinery. You have to make an appointment to visit it, but that is possible through http://www.perspectiv-online.org/ Very nice people and, if you’re a theatre lover, worth the trip

Been here twice so far, once for "Tosca," a traditional treatment, and again for "MacBeth," which was a modern American production. Both were great. Sound and lighting are very good. Viewing is pretty good from seats on the floor. Theater itself is lovely and old...More

I attended the Doppia Notte on June 25th. A fabulous work of art, combining dance and music of the finest level. The choreography was so intense. The theatre itself is a masterwork of architecture, just celebrated their 250th birthday with a remarkable production of Gluck's...More

We attended the ballet here. It is situated in the university sector of town, which isn't the most scenic of areas but safe. We arrived early and went to the local 'pub' beforehand. Unfortunately, the ballet was a modern interpretation which wasn't to our liking...More

I intend to reserve tickets for Carmen (March 2016) using the online ticketing service on the Teatro Comunale website. Appraently the tickets will be on sale from 07/01/2016. Despite e-mailing the ticket office and the online ticket service, I'm still not sure what the procedure is for actually getting the tickets. The last e-mail I had seemed to suggest I pick the tickets up from the box office on the day of performance. Can anyone confirm this?

Hi. What is the dress code for the theatre. Are they strict? Thanks

No it's not very strict except for opening nights. Of course sneakers and a t shirt will be frowned at, but costume and tie are not compulsory.
