Piazza Maggiore is the heart of this city, and most of the sights are nearby. There's a tourist information center here, and it's also where you get the tourist train/bus. Shopping (including markets) is great in the area to the east of the piazza, and most of the sidewalks are covered with graceful porticos. The Neptune statue was covered when... More

Young people were giggling and stomping being clumsy, nostalgically smiling elderly were carried away by the rhythms. If you don't find anything for yourself, there are lots... More

The main square where you can find coffee shops, wine bars, tourist information. Basically the central hub. Wander off down the side streets to find more restaurants and bars

Lovely square where everyone comes out just to relax, meet friends, have a drink and just hang out. You have people playing music and great place just to watch the world pass you by

This square is unavoidable, th buildings around it are magnificent but the square by itself is not that impressive.

The city center of Bologna is in this piazza. Beautiful area with many people and many coffee shops to get rest and enjoy a cappuccino!

Beautiful italian architecture and ambiance mixed in one place. Whether you are there to have an ice cream, enjoy a delicious lunch or even just passing, this place is filled with energy and movement. All kinds of activities mixed together in one place offering the best of the italian experience.

It is a must see in bologna. Sat there drinking a spritz in a local bar and just enjoyed the Wheather. Very crowed on the weekends but always nice to be there. Very large. Inexpensive bars though.
