Piazza Maggiore is right in the center of medieval Bologna. The surrounding buildings are in good condition. Lots of tourists and locals.

This square is amazing, it is huge! Lots to see there, including the great imposing basilica. Lots of people hanging out in the many cafes just people watching. There are lots of little streets off the square which are great for cafes and shopping. .

Great focal point for Bologna - lively and entertaining. You will visit many times whilst in Bologna - with hop on/off buses and trains. A great place for a drink and to watch the word go by!
