We arrived at the place a few friends after we successfully found public parking very close. The visit to the amazing church is a must and you can enter it. Then we sat down to eat in one of the deli / restaurants in the alley going out of the piazza and ate a most enjoyable local meal including a... More

It was shame that when we went Neptune's Fountain was covered for restoration but this is the heart of the City. Most of what is good to see and stems from here.So it's always a good starting point. Everybody flocks here however I never found it crowded or overly busy. It is actually a relaxing place as you'll find people... More

Good place to start and explore Bologna's historic center. Lots of interesting places to see and some great small restaurants as well.

The piazza is like a lot of other piazzas in Italy, but there is this attraction that changes it. Go beneath the roof on the right side of the piazza and there will be people standing in the corners of the walls. If two people stand diagonal of each other, and talk to the walls, they will hear each other... More

It's a fine piazza with lots of restaurants in the side streets. Some around as well. But not like some of the other piazzas out there. The basilica as the main view on the place. The Neptune fountain was under renovation during our visit.

Although the major fountain is under construction, this is still the main square in Bologna. Next to it is shopping and restaurants galore and definitely worth a trip to see and visit.

A place of gathering of many types of persons, visitors, students and local residents. The church (San Petronio Basilica) and Neptune Statue have stories to tell. Facing the Basilicia, arched columns where I can whisper corner to corner as if using a telephone. The Basilicia with its man made sun clock. All surrounded by restaurants and museums with the flair... More
