A bit strange to rate this as a tourist attraction. It's a place of worship and would be good to see other tourists treat it with respect. Plexiglass panels give a view to ancient frescoes underneath.

Specially not the building itself, but the mosaics are brilliant. This is not the first time that we have seen them and evry time we admire it.

This was the highlight of our walking tour of the Centro Storico and well worth a visit as the 2 floors under the existing nave have wonderful mosaics on display.

The Cattedrale di Pesaro is in the centro storico in a lovely redbrick but quite plain building from the outside. Inside however it sets itself apart: lofty and light, stunning ceiling paintings and stuccoed ceilings but merges the historical building with modern wooden benches -...More

Some place in Italy, hide something that you must discover. In Pesaro, Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral, hide beautiful mosaics under its floor, that you might not see if looking up to the cealing (as in most churches). Also Pesaro Cathedral hosts the remains of S....More

An old cathedral--like all the others in Italy ;-) In the old town, a must to visit. There are masses at regular times, try to go there at that time, but respect the manners for locals. Not too nozy or noicy, shoulders covered etc. Not...More
