Simply amazing when you realize you are at the Vatican city. Do yourself a favour and skip the line of tourist waiting to enter the basilica and Dome by paying more mone. Get a guide or not is a very personal decision, but I would prefer to get a guide. A guided tour to visit all of the tourist attraction... More

If you visit this place I think you have added something important to your memory.I am not lazy to walk so I walked all around and everything I have seen was very beautiful and interesting. If I go there 100 times I think I still would like to go again.

Visiting the Vatican City was the most favorite part of being in Italy. So many things to see. Most of our tour group went to St. Peter's Square on the Sunday we were there ns saw Pope Francis. We missed it and were very disappointed.

There is so much history, political and religious, that it can't be all recalled. The building are beautiful, well kept and maintained. It's a massive place with not a stone out of place. All the columns and works of art you can ever want to see.

Beware that Vatican City is huge and will require a huge amount of walking. Use a taxi versus city transportation to get there because it will get you closer. The bus and metro stops were far, far away. It's HUGE!! Seeing this requires at least 3 hours-and that's just the highlights (exteriors, key art, Sistine, Basilica). Schedule a tour-it can... More

We bought our 3-hour tour tickets in advance from Vatican Museum website for 37,00 Euro. The tour includes: the Pio Clementino Museum, the Gallery of the Candelabras, the Gallery of the Geographical Maps, and the Gallery of the Tapestries (Renaissance art), the Raphael Rooms, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica. Access to Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, Vatican Gardens and Saint Peter's... More

We took a guided tour & avoided the lines. There are lots of tour companies offering this as you get close to the Vatican & we just spoke to one person who was not pushy & asked him lots of questions about what was included etc. So glad we did, as the guide explained all the history & background of... Wherever you are in Rome you can always see the Vatican, it's huge and very impressive. The museums are absolutely wonderful and house priceless exhibits, paintings and artifacts and you can easily loose yourself taking it all in....as I did!! There is, however, a huge downside to the excess and riches of the Vatican City and that is that it... More

Ok to tell this is a "do not miss" in Rome is too obvious. Take a guided tour of the Vatican Museum, that includes the Sistine Chapel, St Peters. Avoid long lines and see more. This place can be easily overwhelming, and you could spend years here and not see it all. Let the experts point out the highlights and... More

You don’t have to be a Catholic or a Christian to visit the Vatican, anyone is welcome to see the city and enjoy the place. As early as 6 in the morning, a lot of people are already on queue especially on Wednesdays to be in the Vatican and inside the St. Peter’s Basilica. Pilgrims and people from all over... More
