When we first arrived, the piazza was closed for the blessing of newlyweds but we decided to wait and lucky we did. Got to see the Pope come out of the cathedral which was pretty exciting. That said, the architecture and history here are overwhelming. Best to do some research on the history ahead of time so you know what... More

Last time when I was here - two years ago it was an amazing place for everyone. Now is nothing they fenced it, they filled it with separators, they made it comercial instead of a place to have your heart anf soul filled with joy. In top of everything- they hired very rude guardians. Anything you do is a chance... More

At the end of our visit to Vatican City we had the opportunity to see the magnificent St. Peter's Square. Is a good view for photos with best background the St. Peter's basilica.

Crowds gone and all lit up. What a sight. Everything in England is rather small & pales into insignificance next to Rome

It is lovely at night when it is lit. You can look as the massive space and imagine crowds of people listening to the pope.

We went on Sunday at 12 noon in order to see the Pope give a blessing from his balcony. It was an amazing and emotional experience. Check the papal diary before you go to see if he definitely will be there. It gets very busy and you have to go through quite a bit of security so give plenty of... More

I sometimes enjoy looking at the external beauty of a famous place. Wonderful column designs. The stage and set up for the mass and the cordons for the lines were not attractive but what can we do?
