I really enjoyed strolling around the square several times and learning a lot while there. Admiring all the statues and even the spot you stand where all The columns appear in line. The only disappointment was the NO STOP HARASSMENT from individuals trying to sell...More

This is another experience that you may see in pictures or on tv, but until you have had the opportunity to stand in the square and turn and look around--you will not begin to understand the energy and feelings that being inside the square emit.

Visiting St Peters Basilica you are going to spend a large amount of time queuing. Luckily you get to do it in one of the best plazas in the world. Plenty of things to see, you’ll barely notice the time spent queuing.

As you wait outside to get inside the basilica, you really see the scope of work on all the beautiful statues on top square. All the statues are done by Bernini. It is just amazing, with all the columns. Truly Renaissance architecture at its best....More

A wide open area in front of the Basilica, it's a great spot to capture the grandeur of St. Peter's and it's the area for Papal audiences. The only drawbacks are the guys selling selfie sticks, beggars and tour guide hawkers. A firm "No, Grazie"...More

The whole place is stunning. Visiting in November was perfect, not busy and could enjoy as not too hot and crowded.

If you want to visit the Saint Peters Cathedral, you have to wait for about two hours. Count on this with your reservation in the Vatican Museum. But the cathedral is surely worth the wait.

Sounds very silly but we stumbled across St. Peter's square! We were just following the crowds! Amazing in awe when we saw this! Great for photos and I believe you can go and have a tour although the queue was extremely long!

Seeing it on tv and standing in the Square is very different. It’s a huge place and the Pope has an audience with the people on Wednesdays and Sunday’s. Its a great people’s area as you wonder on all the famous events that have taken...More

Not sure about the Square but I recall a small post office just before you exit the Vatican museum. Of course, you have to have entered the museum in the first place so not much use if you haven't prebooked tickets and don't... More

Not that I saw. As I think about it, I don't remember seeing anyone sitting. There are no benches. I don't think you can even sit on the edge of the fountain. It's kind of a take pictures spot. There are cafes right before... More
