The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a five-minute walk of each other, the Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighbourhood museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa drivers, street vendors, merchants, and locals. There is no rhyme or reason to its winding streets and there's something to see around every corner, so take pleasure in a spontaneous wander.

It was not the first time we had gone here but we hadn’t been here since covid. The quality had suffered. It might be under a new owner because their once very good coffee seemed watered down. It no longer had the sprinkled chocolate. All the chocolate that was for sale in the store was over priced. It was full and service was bad. There was also a very long line to the one small restroom which was unisex. We would not return again.

I have been going there for 40 years. Once upon a time it was fabulous, absolutely the best cappucino in the world. Alas NO MORE . The place is overcrowded and rude. There is a line for a table. The cappucino is more watery than before and they don't even speinkle a bit of chocolate on top. Everything is about $$$ and living of the once deserved reputation. They also obviously do not want you to use the bathroom - since they close it off often and it takes 30 mimutes to clean by slow motion. The ownership has obviously changed for the worse. Never again!!!

The 5- star reviews here seem misleading. Saint Eustachio Cafe tasted like the “Starbucks” of Rome to us. The server was very friendly, however the pastries were mediocre compared to 089 Cafe in Rome and the various other pastries with coffee we enjoyed in Sorrento. The coffee was very sweet and did not taste authentic.

We were taken here for a coffee by our tour guide. This is an authentic Rome experience, you drink your small cup of coffee standing up, as you also eat a pastry. The coffee is strong and frothy.

Wandering around between The Pantheon and Piazza Navone, we came upon this gem of a place. Delicious coffee desserts. Wonderful coffee gifts for the travelers. Recommend the granitas and mousse. Best coffee!

One of the best places to drink italian coffee "al bar". It's quite a cozy place, literally in the centre of Rome just next to Pantheon. The coffee served was just perfect, except for the foam milk of the second cappuccino. The prices were perfectly reasonable (2 cappuccinos/3€), especially if you consider t Sant'Eustachio caffè's perfect map location.
You should definitely try something sweet from the bar to eat alongside your coffee. I highly recommend the canollis (chocolate, cheese, crema, peanut), which are the -in my opinion- sulerb.
Don't miss the chance to visit this amazing caffè bar during your visit.

PS. Coffee beans are also sold in bags, so if you really like italian coffee, buying some could be somewhat of a souvenir. Prices are higher than somewhere else, but it's nice to have your Sant'Eustachio coffee beans back home with you.

Each time I come to Rome I go to this super cafe which has been serving great coffee since 1938. Almost half of the cup is simply "crema" - like nowhere else. They also sell good pastries.

I was told this was the best coffee in town. Certainly the most expensive at €4.30 for a cappuccino. But it was very good and very busy. I think I’ve had better coffee elsewhere though so won’t be back

The best espresso in Rome.
Energyzing, foaming, intensive.
In the traditional italian way to have coffee: just some minutes of complete relax.
Spectacular welcome and staying.
Please note: you have to ask for sugar amount before the preparation of expresso. I always go for an "extremely sugary" one.
