Neighbourhood: Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.

A must see. Wasn’t too crowded when we went which meant a breath of calm amidst a busy tourist area. Breathtaking views across Rome!

The Orange tree garden is perched at the top of the Aventine hill. Also known as parko sevalo. If you were to ever have it be empty at sunset it would be an incredibly romantic evening. However the secret is out and it is a great spot for taking pictures at sunset and viewing the old city of Rome.

What a view - it’s worth the visit purely just for the view from the top! It’s a beautiful little park, lovely music from the guy with a guitar - perfect for a romantic afternoon!

Best trees in Rome! I love those big cypresses. We walked up the Aventine hill which has the ‘back’ view of Palentine hill and after a peak thru the keyhole found the beautiful green space of the Orange Garden. Very relaxing and great view of the city from hill to hill.

We took a golf cart tour and stopped here. The views were amazing. It was relaxing. We drank from the water fountain and visited the church next door. Incredible little spot to stop.

Our tour guide took us to this beautiful overlook on the Aventine Hill. Beautiful vistas with St. Peter’s, the “Wedding Cake” national monument, and other historic buildings in the background. Great place to have a picnic among the orange trees. Our guide called this area “Oranges Tree Park.”

Our private tour guide Mateo took us to this wonderful neighborhood. This beautiful Garden of Oranges afforded a stunning view of the city of Rome. It is located on top of the Aventino Hill and is next to the Santa Sabino Church.

After walking up to the Aventino and taking in the view from the Villa del Priorato Di Malta then head on down to the Orange gardens. Sadly no oranges when I went in mid September but a view of St. Peter dome and the city rooftops.

A little slice of heaven ( of course with the obligatory buskers and junk stalls but hey)
