I went on the Trastevere for Foodies tour with my husband and two children, ages 10 and 12. We all loved the tour! It was so delicious and we learned a lot about food in Rome. This tour was the trip highlight for my children. My only regret is that we didn't do this tour on the first day so... More

THIS is the way to sample about 7 Italian eateries in Travestere. Gigi was our guide for the evening, and she loves what she does and it shows! The food was delicious and by the time we ate dinner I was full. Learned what 'real' gelato is! I couldn't understand why I never saw anyone carrying "to-go" coffee which Gigi... More

If you are going to Rome - you are going for sights and food - this is the tour to take. Friends of our recommended this to us and it was possibly the best thing ever! We met on Tiber Island and walked over to Trastevere (not far) and we dipped into restaurants and wine cellars and bakeries, a pizzeria... More

Went on this tour in March with a friend. It was fantastic. Domenico was our guide. He was friendly, charming, interesting and knew the whole neighborhood. The stops were well thought out...the food was delicious...he shared more than just stories about food but local and Roman history as well. Would highly, highly recommend. Did Taste of Trastevere two years ago... More

This is the 3rd time to complete this tour. It is a great tour for food, wine and history - but our tour guide, Domenico, has made this trip the most memorable. His unique personality (humor) plus his knowledge/passion about his country made this tour so memorable. Our kids, 15 and 11, remember Domenico, and is one of their favorite... More

I did the food tour whilst travelling solo and found it a great, safe way to explore more of the city. Our tour guide Toni was amazing - very friendly and knowledgeable. The places and the food were excellent. I wish I had done it earlier in the trip so that I would have known the great places to go... More

The Twilight Trastevere tour is, of course, all about the food and everything was delicious. But there's also some fun facts to learn and over the course of 4 hours I got to know the 9 other people in our group. Eric was our guide and kept the education light and fun. He seems to reach a good underdranding of... More

My only regret is that I did not do this the first night, as not only did I learn a ton about the food of Italy, I was given a list of other places to go and try. (I had one night left and did try one of the recommendations, and it was fantastic - and not any more money... More

Myself and my wife travelled to Rome for a long weekend in February 2017 as part of my 40th birthday celebrations. Although we wanted to do the normal tourist "must see" attractions, we also wanted to do something a little bit different which would take us off the beaten track and experience the local side of life in Rome -... Staying in Testaccio

Neighbourhood Profile
Testaccio
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
