I went to this place, it is impressive how from a pagan temple a church was built. It is interesting to see how it is underground and its places of worship, such as the Mitre school and the altar mitre. It's wet. Admission is 12 Euro

Incredible feeling and atmosphere in this temple. Three layers of sacred places put you in a state of religion trance and hypnosis.

For only 10€ (if you book online otherwise 12€ paying there) you can make a beautiful visit a stone's throw from the Colosseum. Very impressive and worth it, they say they are digging again.

The archaeological excavations under the church of San Clemente include the former basilica, the Mithraeum, and a Roman house with a water spring.
At the entrance there were two employees, but only one was selling tickets, while the other was only for souvenirs bought (this even if there was nobody buying souvenirs, and a queue for tickets).
Entrance fee is 10.00 Euro (as of Jan. 2018), but there is little or no explanation of what you will see, apart from a flyer you get with your ticket.
The visit route is not always clearly indicated, and you end up passing time and again the same places.
The visitor shops offers little, apart from overpriced postcards.
