This portion of the aqueduct system supplied water to the Palatine hill supplying water to the Imperial Palace. The remains of this waterway can be seen from Via di San Gregorio a short distance from the Circus Maximus. The Acqua Caludia was initiated by Caligula in 38AD and completed to the Palatine by Domitian. This ruin is just a very small portion of the entire 45-mile duct.
