About
The exposition represents an itinerary through history going from the VII century B.C. to the IV century A.D. brought to life through the accurate reconstruction of helmets and armour of the Roman legions and gladiators, showing over a millenium of history through the most representative weaponry of Roman army and its enemies. Set on two floors, in the basement there is the chance to see and touch the autentique columns of the ancient Stadium of Domitian and to take photos into the gladiators’ prison.

This is a lovely private collection of replica armour, shields, helmets, weapons etc in a basement room of a gift shop. There's also a good model of what the piazza started off as - very informative. Entrance is free, you can make a donation if you wish,and you are not pressured into spending money in the gift shop above (although I think you should, as a thank you). What you do get is a very good idea of what the gladiator/soldier clothing, protection and weaponry was really like. Ignore the snobbish reviews from people who expect the moon on a stick! Go with an open mind, knowing that someone spent time and money putting the collection together for our enjoyment. We did really enjoyed it.

We had a wonderful teacher and our teen and 10 year old boys loved this. It was fun to step out of the city a bit and learn more about the Roman gladiators. Fun for the children to be able to try things on and move their bodies around in the areana getting some exercise.

Great place, full of exhibits, everything is clearly described, so even if you are not familiar with a thing or two you will. Guy at the entrance was very friendly and its a nice place to see.

I'm usually very positive in my reviews but that is not the case for the Gladiator Museum. To charge 10+ euros to see a few costumes is robbery. Two levels, each have 15-20 items to look at. I'd say it takes about 15 minutes to see it all and that's if you are actually interested. The lower level smells awful. To pay the same price as you would to see the Colosseum or the Vatican is an insult. Save your money and spend it at any of the very fine restaurants on either side of the museum.

Tucked away at the side of Piazza Navona this museum was just a collection of gladiator armour and costumes. There wasn’t a guide to show you around and inside is tiny,

Expensive scam! It was so terrible we are still laughing. The toilets are excellent. The most expensive loos in Rome! I can’t believe we were sucked in by this.

This small museum houses a collection of replicas of uniforms, helmets, swords, shields, and accoutrements of gladiators through the ages, plus soldiers through the ages. The audio guide walks you through the collection and explains the history and the uniforms. Detailed cards fill in more. The staff were friendly and helpful. A good way to spend a bit of time if you're on the Piazza Navona and looking for something different. If you are fascinated by the history of gladiators and the Roman army, this is for you. Because everything is a replica, you can see what it looked like as worn. Very well put together collection

Nothing to write home about unless you have a 5 year old who’s mad about gladiators. We only walked in as entry was included in our turbopass and we happened to be in the area. It’s just a small exhibition of replica roman military uniform and gladiator outfits.
I would’ve been livid if I paid the €12 per head entry fee.

This museum is very small, just 2 rooms. We visited on a very hot day and there was no air conditioning or any air moving in the rooms and it was very stuffy and almost unbearable. The ground room is full of Roman legion replicas and the downstairs was full of gladiator replicas. Even taking our time and looking at everything, we only spent maybe 15-20 minutes because there just wasn't that much to see. This was not worth the money.
