We had a tour of the vatican museum and the Basilica with Claudia. What an excellent guide! She spoke perfect English and knew everything off by heart. We wore earphones and she had a headset and spoke into a microphone. As there has to be silence inside the sistine chapel she told us what to look for before we entered.... More

The Romaround tour was made up of far too many people, around 50, and a lot of time was spend waiting around because of the lack of organisation. To avoid the long queues at the Vatican we decided to take the option of a tour - we were hoped to get some extra insight into what we were seeing but... More

This is not not really a guided tour, they just help you skip the long line, ramble something till the Sistine Chapel entrance, collect the audio guide and disappear. Plenty of other tours continued for another good hour explaining a lot of paintings, sculptures and monuments while we were just standing there gazing at them like idiots. Idiots who just... More

We have a great experience with our tour guide Roberto, he was humorous and knowledgable. He was engaging and made sure to lookout for his group and included everyone to make sure they all understood the history. The group was a mix from around the world but all spoke English as the tour was set up in groups by language... More

Irene was unfortunately not a good tour guide. She was difficult to understand, a little rude when answering questions, barely gave us any interesting details and corralled us through the sites of the Vatican museums and the Sistine Chapel with no concern to our wanting to admire or take photos. The entire tour cost 50 euro and it was a... More

Vasco was a really nice guy and led a great tour. He was very knowledgeable and explained the history behind the Sistine chapel in detail. This made me appreciate the Chapel and the wonderful art work even more. I don't usually like tours but this was well worth it. Bravo and hvala :)

We were outside The Colosseum and were approached by different people offering guided tours to skip the queue which to be honest was not that long. We decided to go on a tour and was so glad that we did. Great guide who told us so much history that we would not have known if we had just gone in... More

We did the Roman Forum tour with Lumi and it was fantastic. She told us so much history yet made it fun and interesting. We had a terrific time and would love to do it again.

I was going to go into the Colosseum to look around on my own, but was told about this tour by someone outside and I'm glad I decided to go on it. It was a reasonable price and included several sights, including the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and the Forum. The guide for the Colosseum was really good, his name was... More

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
