Few areas are preserved as well as the theatre you can really get a feel of the place compared with the rest of the ruins

Our guide took the time to provide details that most of us were not aware of and ensured we saw most of the grounds that a large group wouldn't have had time for.

Definitely check it out if you go to Pompei. As you walk towards it the last thing you expect is for you to end up right the entrance with the theatre opening towards the bottom. Very neat!

One of the best preserved amphitheaters in the roman area. Pompeii has done a magnificent job of excavation and restoration of the area.

Just imagine the feat in the construction of this huge outdoor theatre and the atmosphere it must have generated. Really quite splendid in every way!

The whole place is a master piece of modern and antic architecture and the acoustics are just divine if you are into music this a great place to stop and admire the old modern marvels of those times
