A small roman theater found inside the Pompeii excavation, there are many theaters found scattered in the Roman Empire locations such as Greece, Turkey and Croatia, Therfore not particularly unique.

We took a walk back in time in Pompeii. We walked the ancient streets and entered the dwellings and businesses where the townspeople worked and lived. We visited the Teatro where they found entertainment.

This small theatre, so well preserved, is still in use today. But theatres goers now all have seats, whereas in times of old, the audience was split into three classes. The upper classes had larger seats/ benches in the lower section where they could sit...More

Stopped here first thinking it was the mai. Theatre but really liked the small format. Would have been great in its heyday. Well preserved and worth the visit.

From two Pompeii theaters, Grande and Piccolo, this the small one, is much better preserved and endured lower damage than the bigger one. It could accommodate 1000 people for music and theater shows. During it's usage it was roofed.

This one was really cool. Our guide had one person sing right in the middle and you can hear how it carried due to the shape. This was a fav!

You are amazed by the thought and effort put into design for acoustics and sound effects. false floors, shape of amphitheater, and other tricks to help sound carry to the audience. so much thought put into theater.

Not as crowded as other areas but well preserved and impressive. close to the teatro grande (big). it's fascinating to just seat there and imagine how it was then...

This is right next door to the large theatre. its a great place to sit and absorb the ambience of a well preserved theatre. It was only spoilt by someone singing their national anthem in the wrong place at the wrong time.
