I walked by myself without tour guide for almost half day. As I was in a rush to catch the ferry from Napoli to Catania, I cannot walk through all details. However, this historic site which always read from the books and tv programme was sit there for you to be the evidence of the tragedy. You can see a lot of left-over and victims from the lava attack in the Rome age and many sculpture were etched. Also, due to this tragedy, the site was protected and restored for tourist and local people to experience a day-tour in the Roma city.

The house, although built in the traditional Tuscan style has Egyptian touches and archeologists believe that a small room was dedicated to the cult of Isis. The reconstruction is impressive with many water channels.

The house of Pttavio Quartione is huge and the main attraction is the lovely manicured gardens. You can see the wealth the owner would have had. There is runways for water and fountains but unfortunately they were just empty and lined with concrete, I think it would make a nice feature to have the water flowing again.

This one is a huge house with a huge garden, as soon as you reach this place you can see the power of the owner, this location has very beautiful wall painting (some awesome animals, very realistic) and some nice sculptures in a very interesting fount; you are able to walk across the gardens and feel and smell everything else, you can be transported for a moment to the real rich roman house

Interesting to see how Pompeian elite lived like. This is a house of a rich man called Decimus Octavius Quartio.

Interesting and it has a nice garden layout. Just like the rest of the site, worth visiting. Some nice intact marble statues still remain

Not as famous as the nearby House of Venus in the Shell it's another terrific example of a Roman house. It has a number of important frescoes (Narcissus at the Spring and Pyramus committing Suicide among others). Also it boasts a large garden with a canal running thru the center of it which was fed by a spring with a nymphaneum and a small temple built over it.
