During our stay in Naples we came across this nice step train. At first it seemed a bit funny but soon turned out to be very effective for our travels between montesanto and rest of the city.
A true engineering marvel.
Our hostel is right next to the funicolare station, we love that Gondola Tram! It's an easy fun way to travel in Napoli. A one way trip is only 1,10€. You can switch the funicolare lines on top of the hill Vomero.
The Funicolare di Montesanto saves you walking uphill.
The entrance was kind of hidden and on the first floor of the station the entrance is to your far right. The other trains do not take you up hill.
After our visit to the National Archaeological Museum of Naples we took a short walk to this Funicular station to get up on the hill overlooking the city. The view of the city with Vesuvius in the background, was perfect in the afternoon light. The...More
