The four funicular railways in Naples are regular commuter routes, but for the tourist they're attractions in themselves. Can't beat the price of a journey (€1.10). It was clean, smooth and quick. A great way to get up to the top of the Vomero hill...More

A very enjoyable and functional way to travel. Surprisingly it's in a tunnel but it's not your normal underground that's for sure. Very cheap and fun. A treat of an experience to undertake.

At €1.10 it's dirt cheap considering the walk. Neapolitan Funiculars aren't quaint touristy jobs, these provide a service to many citizens who works below.

We used the funicolare to travel up to Volmero to visit St Elmo's castle. Really fun experience and since we had a three day Campania Arte card it didn't cost us anything, if we had more time in Naples I would have like to have...More

During our stay in Naples we came across this nice step train. At first it seemed a bit funny but soon turned out to be very effective for our travels between montesanto and rest of the city. A true engineering marvel.

Our hostel is right next to the funicolare station, we love that Gondola Tram! It's an easy fun way to travel in Napoli. A one way trip is only 1,10€. You can switch the funicolare lines on top of the hill Vomero.

The Funicolare di Montesanto saves you walking uphill. The entrance was kind of hidden and on the first floor of the station the entrance is to your far right. The other trains do not take you up hill.

Easy to find, well indicated. Great way to climb a few hundred yards towards Castel Sant'Elmo from the historic city centre.
