Incredibly busy Piazza with lots of traffic and people, but nice to see. It's on the way to the Piazza del Plebiscito so you'll probably visit anyway. There is an impressive fountain in the middle of the roundabout and there are a couple of cafes in the square.

Pretty much just a small square with a small fountain in the middle of the roundabout. Various restaurants and coffee shops around but very crowded

Fountains not operating. Lively place with a mix of great buildings and shambles. Street full of motor cycles. Fun! But be careful.

Small square with a fountain where you'll probably pass by going from Via Toledo to Piazza Plebiscito.

We walked down Via Toledo on our way to Piazza del Plebiscito. The beautiful Carciofo fountain ( in English it means artichoke) was great, behind it is the famous Teatro San Carlo where Macbeth is now showing. Next to it is the grand entrance to the Galleria Umberto I. A must place to visit. There is a beautiful baroque Church of San Ferdinando.

Just walking around central Naples going form A to B it is easy to come across these historic squares. It to miss it if focused too much on getting to the destination.

A pretty square in the historic centre of Naples. Some of the famous landmarks of the city lined up around the perimeter: Teatro San Carlo, Galleria Umberto I and the café Gambrinus in the first place. The square was created in an honor of the victory in the first world war. The victory was, however, more like a defeat, so the square was probably better. Fountain Carciofo, which means Artichoke, was built in the 50th years of XX century on the initiative of the right-wing mayor of Naples Achille Lauro, a former member of the fascist party of Mussolini. The fountain turned out better.

Piazza Trieste e Trento is a nice enough piazza, but considering the actual area, it is not a place where you will go to sit and relax. Far from it. It is a very busy place with lots of traffic all day long. The fountain in the middle is quite lovely and many people risk their safety by going close to it to have a better look or to have photos taken. We decided not to take any risks and just stood at a safe distance. Nearby is the Piazza del Plebiscito where you can breath easy and relax. There are cafes, restaurants and other shops around.

A very busy area full of traffic, locals and tourists. Nearby building are large and there is a fountain in the middle, aside from this not much more to see.

Beautiful circular fountain in the square. Very busy area - heavily trafficked with cars, motor scooters, passengers on foot. In the older section of Naples - narrower streets and intriguing architectural styles on buildings.
