We had no idea what we was in store for us when we went to the Royal Palace, it is breathtaking from the moment you step inside, which is such a contrast form the view outside. The beautiful grand staircase, the awesome ceiling frescos, and the magnificent chandeliers, though out the Palace, are only a prelude to the Gardens. The... More

The Royal Palace of the Kings when they ruled the 'Kingdom of the Two Sicilies' has always been on my list of places to visit since I studied the Italian City States at university. Two Sicilies? Naples was a kingdom, so was Sicily and the Bourbons ruled them both as a union. The Palazzo Reale was one of four places... More

Walking thru the garden to the cascading waterfall and admiring the well designed fountains. Inside the Palace, visited the Royal apartment and throne room. Preservation very well done!

This site didn't impress from the first view. Nevertheless it's a great and very interesting one. Have a look.

A sunning palace with some beautiful pieces and architectural features that you definitely get a WOW moment when you enter. It is an absolute bargain to get in at just 4,00 per person and when we went it wasn't at all full of tourists. A free audio guide is available if you leave your ID at the ticket desk and... More

Calm, quiet, spectacular palazzo. Nicely judged info plaques, not too long but nicely written. In super condition with loads of original silk wallpaper, porcelain, furniture. Reminded me of the Hapsburg palace in Vienna. Bring an ID if you want an audio guide.

The Palace was partially under renovation and we could see most of it. The staircase is absolutely spectacular and theatre still in use(must see it). Audio guide very helpful. You can realize the greatness of Naples, the capital of Southern Italy. We were amazed to realize that Italy as state is younger than the USA and the significant differences between... More

OK, this is not ancient history here. But 18th century is not half bad. The Palazzo Real backs onto the theatre (go see it too) so the royalty could go without being seen by the commoners. The palace is older, but the apartments were redone after Napoleon. They are magnificent and the tour is only 4 euro which includes very... More

THe first time I was in Naples I did not even realise this place existed, even though I had walked past it more than once. This time round I read about in an email sent by my hostel and decided to visit. It was well worth it! The staircase alone is worth a look. It is absolutely stunning. Spent an... More

We were only in Naples for one full day and decided to stay within an easy walking distance of our hotel. Walked to the Piazza del Plebiscto and toured the palace based on other TA reviews . For 4e this is the best deal in Italy. 28 rooms of magnificent art and architecture - amazing how well preserved it all... More
