Really good fun work out. Have coffee or snack at the top. Amazing views of the whole island and surrounds.

We are a couple late fifties/early sixties and we did this walk with our 21 year old daughter. We had hired a car for the day so were able to drive up to the first cafe, thus only leaving a walk of about 45mins - an hour up and about half an hour down. About three minutes walk up the... More

Lovely scenery, just make sure to make the trip on a sunny day - beautiful, breathtaking scenery. You can see Forio, Ischia, Corsica etc... stunning! Not too difficult, but be prepared for some exercise!

A couple in our fifties and fairly fit we chose an easy way up and more challenging way down. We got the bus from Forio to Fontana and then walked the 3k to the summit. Stunning views on the way up and at the top. The cafe at the top is reasonably priced with unparalleled views. We then descended by... More

A nice hike up to the top. Make sure to do on a clear day so you can get a great view of the island. There is also a café at the top which has amazing bruschetta!

Maybe stretching the definition of mountaineering a little but you do get to a summit - and what a summit! The whole island laid out before you, with Procida, Capri and the Sorrentine peninsula thrown in for good measure. We approached from Fontana; despite having researched the location, lost my nerve and jumped ship (the CS bus from Forio actually)... More

I took a rental scooter to the lower cafe and parked up. Then walked up the last section. May be slippery when wet but I climbed in bright sun and was pretty easy. Maybe about 1km and slopes not too severe. Plenty of small lizards rustling in bushes either side of path and a dishevelled rat were the only animals... More

I climbed from Forio, it takes 3 hours but the trail is much more pleasant than the one from Fontana, with great views, beautiful forest, .. You can also descend that way. There are red and white signs, but the signposting is not too visible at some points.

There is always something special about reaching the top of a mountain, and this one doesn't disappoint. It is a long uphill hike on foot, but car or bike can get you most of the way. We went last section on horseback, thoroughly enjoyable.

The best time to hiking the mountain in summer is in the morning of course, you can go into the village under the mountain by bus and then the walk to the top takes about na hour. Don´t need hiking boots, sandals are ok :-) You won´t see anything special during the walk, because is too early for everyone :-D
