This is where you arrive on Capri and realise it is tourist hell, packed in with hundreds of others, you will be hassled by touts for the boat rides and waiters from the many restaurants. Before we visited we thought Capri would be classy and...More

Arrived to Marina Grande from Naples by a water jet. There are lots of restaurants and small shops. The funicular is there to go up to Capri as well as taxis or you can walk up. Easy access

We arrived to Capri by boat into this marina. The lighting in the morning was amazing and it looked gorgeous but it was so busy that we were not able to enjoy it. You have shops, coffee shops, restaurants, taxis, people offering all kind of...More

This is where the cross islands and mainland ferries docked, plus rental private boat to tour the island, and island taxi. Constant, high volume of people and transportation movement. Can’t imagine what the peak season will be.

We were here mid-october and the place was humming with activity, i can hardly imagine what it must be like in the summer. Don't assume that the return ferry will leave from the same dock. Harbour control assigns a dock about half an hour before...More

When you arrive by boat the place where you got of the ship does not have to be the same fromwhich you depart. You can check the timetable on the wall next to the coastguard, here is also a ticketoffice.

Too busy for my liking and not very pretty. Was like a meat market and crazy traffic, the ferries get there early as get really busy especially on a Sunday.

This is where you catch your ferry, buy tickets for the funicular, get taxis etc Plenty of restaurants all overpriced and dubious quality. Anyone who gives Capri 5 stars probably works for the company or has blue tinted glasses.

Getting off the ferry from Maiori and Amalfi I walked along to in front of the Funicolare there was only one small restaurant right at the waters edge...all the others were set back. I told them I wanted breakfast and he recommended a cheese omelet...More

We have friends who go from Positano to Capri and back so I'm sure you can do the opposite. I just googled how to rent a boat on Capri and the first site I chose does do private tours including to the Amalfi coast.
