It's a port , people rushing to catch boats and buses, touts pushing their products , ushers looking to get you into restaurants or on boat trips or into taxis , it's all part of the experience when landing in Capri , wouldn't be to...More

This is a pretty standard port/town and I dread to think what it's like in high summer. it feels a bit like the cheaper/tackier version of Capri before you go up the hill to the town itself which is clearly a lot pricier. The long...More

A lovely bustling and interesting spot which is really the heart of transportation for Capri. The hydrofoil and ferries all pick up and drop off here and there are ticket offices for all of these . Buses are frequent and have a terminus here too...More

You wait to board ferries as if you were at a bus stop, but you’re at sea. The rest is a mixture of sounds, smells, people, buses and peculiar taxis since Marina Grande is where you arrive and from where you leave the Island, the...More

Waaaaay to many people arriving as this is the main port! Beach was a little dirty from discarded cigarette buts and was not the impression of Capri I expected!

This is the perfect "welcome to Capri" spot. It is a beautiful and lively areas packed with seaside cafes, vendors, tour promoters etc. Although it is often the starting point of your Capri experience if you're getting there via ferry, Marina Grande is also an...More

It is the main port from which you will start your stay at Capri. You can take the cable car to Capri center and go to Anacapri busikia. Around the island you will also go to Marina Grande. There are bars and souvenirs.

I went there in the afternoon, at this time the beach was completely in shade. I was really surprised the beach and its surroundings were dirty, there was rubbish... I would not expect that on Capri.

With ferries and sightseeing boats coming and going, the Maria Grande is crowded, but it's fun and busy, and there are good meals to be had if you was away from the ferry dock.

We have friends who go from Positano to Capri and back so I'm sure you can do the opposite. I just googled how to rent a boat on Capri and the first site I chose does do private tours including to the Amalfi coast.
