    The Best Inlaid Wood Products
We first visited your beautiful store over 30 years ago when we purchased our coffee table and matching end tables so we were very excited to make a return visit. For this visit we had a pedestal table in mind to purchase and Teresa was very helpful without being overly pushy. We told her what our budget was and she directed us to the perfect table for our needs. She said there would be no shipping cost and I would have to pay duty which turned out to be less than $ 50. The table was packed perfectly and she even presented us with a serving tray as a free gift. Very happy with my purchase

We met one of the family members and were assigned a sales person to assists us with their inlaid lazy susans. We came back after lunch and made a purchase. Our experience was excellent even though little wiggle room on price. The price included shipping back to the US. Our lazy Susan arrived promptly after we got back from Italy and looks great. We would buy from them again. Their family also owns a restaurant which had excellent service and great food.

    Memento's from Sorrento
Some say that you should take memories and not stuff back from your vacations. In some cases a few physical items to remind you of your experience is a good thing. In Sorrento I picked up a few ceramic items with a lemon theme or artistic renditions of the italian countryside. I had the items shipped and while a bit fearful of the result, I was thrilled that they all arrived in a timely and safe manner. Not a chip, not a missing item, no issues whatsoever. So if you want to return home with a biscotti jar, an onion jar, or just an ceramic item for display Gargiulo & Jannuzzi has it and can ship it home for you to enjoy.

Please do not spend here! If you take a walk further into Sorrento you will find many small and family run business that sell the SAME things for half the price.
To be honest I was so so shocked that things there were 2x the price I had to walk out. €48 for one little box in the shop I purchased from was €120 in this place! I was utterly disgusted! (I will not name the shop I went to as I do not want to seem like I am promoting it and I do not want to be seen as bias. It is run by a father and son tho).

I am not a middle aged man complaining, I am 22. This is a tourist trap, please go to other stores further into the town and give your money to the more deserving for a LOT cheaper.

Thank you

the salespeople here are pushy and the prices are very high. I bought a wood picture that they said was an original. I saw the same thing down the street at 4 other shops for one third the price. Their stuff is not original--others have it.

The smaller shops in the alleyways have much lower prices and are friendly.

I ordered a platter to be made and it was promised to be done in two month. 5 months later, after I reached out to them, they told me it was ready to be shipped and the delay was due to August vacations. If I had not reached out, I have no idea when they would contact me. While I assume the quality of the product is excellent, their customer service is lacking. Libby was very pleasant to meet at the store, but very unaccommodating after the sale was done. No sign of respect for deadlines, no sign of respect to communicate progress. It was has not been a pleasant experience.

This is the perfect shopping destination to experience one of a kind items that are unique to this area from ceramics, to linens, to jewelry, inlaid wooden boxes, hand made lace, and so much more. We picked up a few things to remember our visit to Sorrento. And then again; we enjoyed ourselves too much... We have cancelled our 2013 travel plans and instead will be back to Sorrento.

Our driver had suggested we visit this tourist trap. We had not planned a trip to Sorrento but because my wife likes woodwork we stopped at his suggestion. We are US Citizens and should not be paying the VAT when shipping. They did not provide any forms and charged us the full amount which includes the VAT in the list price. We did not realize this at the time. Another shop where we purchased items in Montepulciano was able to credit us the VAT on shipping. When we returned home and called they lied and told us we had to pay the VAT unless we carried the items with us. They did provide "free shipping" but on a 5000 Euro order that is hardly compensation for the 1000 Euro in taxes that were paid. Avoid this dishonest merchant.

I was told by a friend who had gone to this store a few years back that this store gave a wonderful presentation of marquetry. Out of curiosity (I'm not into woodwork, just wanted to see the process) I made a stop at this store.

The first bad sign was that there was a large group of people outside the store. I thought there was a long line to get into the store, but it turned out it was a shuttle stop. Once inside the store, I discovered the marquetry demo was downstairs. The demo person (female) was just finishing up a demo to an organized tour group. The group left and I asked the woman if she could show me how it was done. In flawless English, she said with disdain and attitude: "You have to wait until the next group comes for me to explain.". There was a clear emphasis on "YOU!" I wasn't with a group, so how was I to know when another group would show up. I wasn't asking her to give me a reading from the encyclopedia. I only wanted a brief explanation.

With that, I figured even if I was going to buy something there, I wouldn't do it on principle. I certainly don't need to buy attitude.

If you can, bypass this tourist trap. It's obviously a stop put on the list for organized groups.

If you are in the Amalfi area and make it to Sorrento, you must visit this place! Whether you shop for yourself or for gifts, you will be amazed. One floor has lace of every size shape and color but the real attraction is the vast selection of handcrafted wood pieces. every size shape and color, the inlaid wood jewelry boxes are exquisite!

We were expertly taken care of by a 5th generation owner - Marco, who gave us the tour of the place and helped us select the perfect gift. I can't wait to see the look on the face of the recipient next week when he sees this work of art. Thanks to marco and his staff and we look forward to seeing you again.

We were sauntering through this wonderful shop admiring the inlaid wood, the pottery, the linens and the glass. Since my husband was born in Sicily he began to speak to the owner. Mentioning the inlaid furniture we were guided to the "attic" to see pieces not on the floor. BEHOLD, there was the console we had been looking for . . . a gorgeous piece that took nine months to build but was ready for us . . . the inlaid wood is truly spectacular. Do we trust it in shipment? We did. It arrived exactly on time, in a crate specially made for it, with massive packing and protection inside. When we opened the crate and gently removed the console it was in PERFECT shape. Trust this shop; they know how to protect the delicate purchases you will make. I would go back in an instant . . . of course, Sorrento IS my favorite place in Italy . . . and this shop really made a professional impression on me.

We had arrived in Sorrento on the Thomson Dream cruise ship and the bus that we took into town from the harbour dropped us off outside this shop. This could not have been better if we had planned it as after consulting Trip Advisor in advance of our cruise this shop was at the very top of the places that we wanted to visit in Sorrento. While not cheap the quality and types of products on sale was amazing ranging from wonderful inlaid furniture, jewelry boxes and pictures, chess sets, pottery, murano glass jewelry, hand made linens, etc. The staff could not have been more helpful and all of them that we spoke with had an excellent knowledge of English which more than compensated for our poor Italian. We made a number of purchases in the shop, in fact we spent more here than in any other shop that we visited during our week long cruise.

Another tip is that the shop has very well maintained and clean toilets in the basement that customers can use. Finding public toilets in Italy is always a problem and usually involves having to go to a cafe for a coffee in order to use the conveniences.
