We walked by this site next to the hotel Antiche Mura and thought it was very cool to look at. The remnants of ancient steps and buildings in a long gone river bed and gorge. Easy to get to just one block off of the...More

Just stumbled across this as we walked around. So deep in the ravine but with the sun shining down on it in the afternoon it looked magical

A couple of hundred yards from Piazza Tasso, Sorrento's main square, in this deep gorge are situated the dilapidated remains of old water mills, now almost completely overgrown with vegetation. You cannot enter the gorge, only view from the bridge crossing it. An interesting part...More

Worth a look as it’s so close to the main square and round the corner from our hotel. It is a ruined building you look down at from above. Interesting and atmospheric but it’s a 10min view as part of a walk rather than something...More

This old mill in a ravine by the wall is incredibly atmospheric and you wonder who decided to build the mill in this site (probably a source of running water) and when and how it was abandoned.

After reading opinions at TripAdvisor we thought that this place is nicer but we found nothing exciting over there.

This is a deep, deep valley that used to house a mill and wash house for the people of Sorrento. It is now fenced off, but you can still see the rocky steps that the people climbed down. At the bottom is a small stream...More

This deep rock-walled canyon passes right under the Piazza Tasso and can be viewed immediately in front of the Hotel Plaza Sorrento. It is an interesting geological feature but it is not possible to enter the canyon

A very surreal sight amidst the hustle of the town. Just a few steps from the main square and you look down into the old Mill. It looks as if it were just left. Look carefully for the waterfall. Well worth taking a walk up...More

From Piazza Tasso as you look at Bar Fauno take the road to the left of the bar. You will be walking towards Hotel Antiche Mura. It is down in the valley opposite the hotel.
