Took a stroll down to the Marina Grande one afternoon and was very disappointed. It's the only place in Sorrento where there was a significant amount of litter. The beach area was covered in plastic bottles, cans and hundreds of cigarette butts. Didn't linger there...More

Great place to have a drink on the edge of the marina, watch the boats come in and out. Half a dozen restaurants to choose from all selling the daily catch. Less hustle and bustle down here too.

A short walk from the central part of Sorrento, you'll come across Marina Grande. A much smaller marina, then the one nearest to the centre, that receives the large passenger ferries and boats. Full of small pleasure craft, a very small beach and plenty of...More

My favourite place in sorrento. It's not changed much. Either follow road then path down from the tramontana, or pick up the road by the hospital. Keep going downhill and you can't go wrong. Lots of cheap places to eat, famous 3€ sardines, plus the...More

When in sorrento we have always gone to this beach. Although piccolo is the main beach it is just jettys and far too crowded and expensive. Marina grande has plenty of fresh seafood eating places, reasonably priced shops which are cheap and plenty space on...More

We looked down on Marina Grande from our balcony at the Hotel Bristol and watched tiny people swimming, fishing boats coming in and out and people walking about. We eventually found our way down there, and it was well worth the walk. It is an...More

Marina Grande - a small City in the town. When you stand on the stairs on the Way down to Marina Grande - you stand immediately silent - the view beyond the Marina is indescribable - you think your eyes are lying. All that light,...More

Hello there, from the Piazza Tasso you can either walk along Corso Italia (the main road) or down 'the drains' Via. S. Cesareo and Via Fuoro. At the end if the drains you will see a few paths that lead down to the Marina... More
