Called in here whilst looking for something to do in Salerno (after spending an hour trying to park!!), the Doumo is OK, nothing outstanding but if you go downstairs the crypt area is amazing.

We found this church beautifully done without being over the top. The mosaics were stunning and the crypt should not be missed. Definitely worth popping in to see and the 1 Euro cost of the crypt.

Well worth a visit as are the streets in the old town of Salerno. The duomo is full of mosaics and the art work in the sacristy is well worth a look.

We really enjoyed Duomo di Salerno. If you like historical sites you will find it very attractive. It offers concerts on weekends sometimes and you can enjoy it free.

Stumbled across the church, in good condition with mixed architectural styles even with North African styles.

Dont forget to see the Duomo in Salerno and special the underground part. It is amazing ! You can go there walking in the narrow streets of the old city of Salerno.

We've been to so many remarkable churches and I didn't think I could be further amazed but we were here. High level of artistry in the mosaic work in particular- both wall art and floors.

Given that this church was built by the Normans in the 11th century, it is a must to see. It is dedicated to St Matthew, whose remains were reportedly brought to the city in 954 and now lie beneath the main altar in the vaulted...More

One of the most characterful cathedrals around. Beautiful frescoes in the crypt which is the highlight. Check opening times. Top of the list if you're visiting Salerno.

There is no entrance fee, and by the way don't forget to visit the crypt.
