Been to Amalfi many times and never went inside the cathedral. So glad we did this time. So much history for the town of Amalfi. Just beautiful inside. Be sure to head downstairs too.

We only had an hour during our cruise ship excursion to tour Amalfi, but we wanted to see the famous cathedral which holds the remains of the Apostle Andrew. It is breathtaking to see the craftsmanship of the striped marble design, which reminded us of...More

Tours can be purchased there (very inexpensive) and children are free. We expected a quick, kind of cheesy tour and boy were we wrong. The tour can last as long as you want. With an 11 and 13 year old we stayed a little over...More

Such a beautiful church. During my visit to the church a wedding was taking place and we were still able to enter the church. The sculptures and designs inside and out are beautiful.

Came back here after our last visit two years ago and it is still fantastic. I rate this up there with the major basilicas in Italy

Simply a stunning piece of architecture. Make sure you are wearing correct clothing if you wish to go inside, respectable. The view from the outside is beautiful though, plus surrounded by shops and restaurants

Go to the left when you get to the top, tickets were I think 10 euro or less and well worth it. If you happen to be staying in town they have daily masses. Paintings from the baroque period with the messages from today's children...More

Hi I don't believe so. It's the sort of thing we would have done had we been able to and I can't find anything looking back in the leaflets we picked up to indicate that you can. It's a shame as I'm sure the view would have... More
